Toulouse has fantastic architecture that is best to explore in the ever winding back streets. Look up for the life on the balconies. The more you discover the winding streets you will find many boutique shops to

Grab a coffee on a terrace and watch the world go by

Toulouse has so many lovely cafes that have outdoor terraces to stop and rest up from the exploring. One of my favourite things to do is to get a coffee and just watch the world go by. My particular favourie is Cafe des Artistes that overlooks the river. You can even go from coffee to glass of wine!

Eat and Drink

France wouldn’t be France without the amazing food and drink. There are endless bars to try the wines of the region or tryout the famous french cassoulet. No 5 wine bar allows to to try as many wines as you would like and has been once awarded the world’s best wine bar! A stone’s throw from No 5 is Alimentation which serves lots of delicious food in a Tapas style so you can try lots of different dishes. If you want very traditional Southern french food I would recommend Point Ogre – it’s not the best for vegetarians and make sure you are hungry!

Appreciate the architecture

Toulouse is the perfect place to appreciate the beautiful historical buildings. The unmissable highlight is the Capitole building, if you visit on the weekend you might see lots of weddings as this is the only legal place to marry in the city centre. Other mustsees are the beautiful churches across the city centre. My favourite is Ensemble Conventual des Jacobins. This church has been there since 1230 and the true wonder is from seen from inside with enormous stained glass windows.

Walk along the Garonne

A visit to Toulouse wouldn’t be complete without a stroll along the garonne. Go between the bridges to find beautiful views of the city.
