Peru is a beautiful country and offers interesting history as well as breath-taking natural beauty. With all of these magical things, there are of course great photo opportunities! Here are the 12 most Instagrammable places in Peru.<\/p>\n\n\n

I have included my attempts at the perfect insta shot here but use your own creativity to see what brilliant photos you can take!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1) Barranco, Lima<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Barranco in Lima is a district in Lima famed for it\u2019s artistic and creative atmosphere. It is also full of brilliant street art and colourful buildings. It is the perfect spot to get a lovely photo with a bright contrasting background.<\/p>\n\n\n

2) Parque Del Amour at Sunset, Lima<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Apart from Barranco, Parque Del Amour <\/a>is one of my favourite places in Lima. You can create some really beautiful photos with the backdrop of sunset over the pacific sea. The spot is just next to a paragliding site so that adds even more excitement to the background!<\/p>\n\n\n

3) Humantay lake<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Humantay lake is a stunning lake with crystal clear bright blue waters. It is often visited on the first day of the Salkantay Trek.<\/a> Many tour companies also offer day trips from Cusco to see Humantay Lake. It is a great spot to get a lovely photo in the nature.<\/p>\n\n\n

4) Rainbow Mountain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This is one of most instagrammable places in Peru! A mountain full of colours that is sometimes snowcapped- what more could a photographer want? Rainbow mountain is at a high altitude so watch out for that and take it easy.<\/p>\n\n\n

5) Lake Titicaca<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lake Titicaca<\/a> is highest navigable lake in the world at over 3800m above sea level. Lake Titicaca is home to the floating islands of Uros which are made and lived on by the local population. Amantani island<\/a> has beautiful pathways with arches and has some incredible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6) PeruRail train<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Peru Rail <\/a>train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes<\/a> is a great way to get to Machu Picchu if you do not want to do a big trek to get there. The route is beautiful and the train has ceiling windows which really add to the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n

A cheaper option than the Peru rail to get to Aguas Calientes<\/a> is to get a bus to hydroelectrica and then walk to Aguas Calientes. This walk is parallel to the train tracks and you can take some really interesting photos there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7) Machu Picchu<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No trip to Peru would be complete without a trip to Machu Picchu and it is definitely one of the most famous instagrammable places in Peru. I was a bit unlucky when I visited Machu Picchu as the whole thing was in clouds and it was raining. Even with the weather, the place was still really impressive and I loved it.<\/p>\n\n\n

8) Amazon Rainforest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Peru has many options to visit the Amazon, personally I visited in Puerto Maldonado.<\/a> You can get some really fun photos in the treetops or even climbing the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

9) Salkantay Mountain<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you do the Salkantay trek<\/a> to Machu Picchu, you will of course pass the Salkantay mountain. It is a dramatic landscape definitely worth visiting. I even saw some national geographic photographers while I was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

10) Arequipa Arches<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Arequipa is nicknamed \u2018the white city\u2019 because of the volcanic rocks used for the buildings. Arequipa has a strong colonial history and this is reflected in the architechure. There are many opportunities for brilliant photos with arches or beautiful squares.<\/p>\n\n\n

11) Pisac Ruins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In the Sacred Valley, the ruins of Pisac are very impressive and the terraces span across the valley. This is a great spot to get a photo both of dramatic mountains as well as ancient ruins that is more original than Machu Picchu.<\/p>\n\n\n

12) Saqsayhuaman Ruins<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Overlooking Cusco, the ruins of Saqsayhuaman used to be a fortress in the Incan times. The ruins are impressive with large stones that are still standing. There are many doorways which make for a really interesting shot.<\/p>\n\n\n
